RAFIKI  LINK

Goal: To build friendship, collaboration, and a community of support between Bodwell High School and three schools in Kenya: Maai Mahiu, Karima, and Longonot Secondary Schools.

Friendship

"Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Walk beside me and be my friend."
- Albert Camus

When you look back at the moments that changed your life,
the moments you enjoyed most - what did those moments involve?
You'll likely mention relationships; friendships; community.

Rafiki Link aims to create meaningful friendships, connections,
"friend links" between schools in Canada and schools in Kenya.

Where we are born - whether in Korea, Canada, Japan, Mexico,
Kazakhstan, or Kenya - is NOT your choice. Who your parents
are - rich or poor, strict or kind, embarrassing or 'cool', alive or
very ill - is also not your choice.

What you do with your background, is your choice. Do you build
friendships with those of other backgrounds, from different families?
Do you support those whose parents don't help them?

It's about friendships first - about solidarity with many students
in Kenya - students with all kinds of parents.

It's about recognising that we are all human - we are all in this together

UBUNTU

"I am Because We Are"

It's that simple...
