Guest Speaker – Michel Chikwanine (Peace Advocate)
Michel Chikwanine was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He grew up during the Great War of Africa, where he and his family witnessed and experienced torture and the hardships of the war. When he was 5, he was forced to become a child soldier. Michel, who now shares the stage with distinguished speakers such as Robert Kennedy, Jr., former Prime Minister Paul Martin, and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, will inspire our graduates to believe in their ability to make a difference and will leave them with a new perspective on life; a sense of hope through social responsibility; and a desire for change.
