For Summer 2015 Bodwell began a series of orientation workshops for new students to enable them to better adapt to a new work and living culture. This session presented by Bodwell’s Coordinator for University and Career Guidance, Bianca Ferrajohn, focused on various strategies that can be used in order to succeed at school and in life. Students were actively engaged in activities that made them critically think about topics such as study skills, stress management, time management, types of learners, speaking English, reading for understanding, learning vocabulary, peer-editing, and graphic organizers. If students are able to apply all of these skills, they should be able to be confident learners and active participants.
